As I sit here and think about Annie and Chris’ wedding my mind is flooded with all of the wonderful parts of their day. From the sweet couple, to their fun and loving families, to the beautiful details and the gorgeous venue…I could go on and on! But, in an effort to keep this post short and sweet and not long and lengthy, I thought I’d highlight some of my favorite parts of the day.
To begin with, Annie and Chris chose the brand new Carriage House at the Huntsville Botanical Garden as their wedding venue. In fact, it’s so new that Annie and Chris were only the second couple to get married here, but I’m certain that this is going to quickly become one of Huntsville’s most sought after event venues. It is so impressive and provided the perfect backdrop to Annie’s classic, with a little bit of whimsy, wedding style. Which Mrs. Jana, the mother-of-the-bride, creatively encompassed in her designs for the invitations and paper goods. She is one talented (and adorable) lady!
Annie carried special pieces of her family members with her throughout the day by wearing her great-grandmother’s bracelet and wrapping her grandfather’s handkerchief and grandmother’s rosary around her bouquet. It’s these sentimental touches that make my photographer heart pitter-patter. I love documenting these special treasures, that mean so much to my brides and grooms, for years to come.
Some of the most touching moments of the day were shared between Annie and her father. There wasn’t a dry eye when Mr. Mike laid eyes on his daughter, the bride, for the first time (as his wife looked on in the background). Let me tell you, trying to take pictures threw teary eyes is not the easiest! Mr. Mike then surprised Annie with a slideshow with photos of her growing up at the reception. Laughter turned to happy tears as they began dancing to a song that he had selected for this occasion long ago. They danced and cried as moments they’d shared together flashed on the big screen. It was truly one of the most touching moments I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing.
Chris and Annie, you two have such a sweet and endearing love for each other. Thank you for inviting me into your family and hearts to capture your beginning.
I was totally tearing up behind my camera during these shots – such precious moments! One of the groomsmen made this veil shot happen. I should post a behind the scenes photo so you can get a little chuckle 🙂Due to weather, the ceremony had to be moved indoors. Thankfully, the Carriage House creates a beautiful backdrop!A daddy and his daughters.
