June 9, 2018 | The Givens House at Glenn Hill | Town Creek, Alabama
During our very first meeting, Duston shared with me his dream of seeing Katie ride into their wedding ceremony on a horse drawn carriage. Nothing else about the wedding plans really mattered to him except for seeing his bride for the first time step off the carriage and walk down the aisle towards him. As the wedding date got closer, the chances of Duston’s dream becoming a reality were looking slim since he was having difficulty finding an available horse and carriage. Or at least that’s what he told Katie. On their wedding day, Katie walked out of the historic Givens House and was met by a beautiful horse on her way to her ceremony. To her surprise, Duston was able to secure a horse and carriage and fulfill his wedding dream.
Katie and Duston were able to share a beautiful and touching ceremony before a storm of all storms crashed their wedding. The sideways rain and gusting winds caused everyone to run for cover. Fortunately, we were able to use a small corner of the back porch for some bride and groom portraits. Katie and Duston were such troopers and kept smiling and laughing through all the thunder and lightning. After the storm passed, a beautiful double rainbow appeared next to the venue as a promise of the wonderful marriage that was ahead for the newlyweds.
Enjoy some of my favorites from Katie and Duston’s special day…
