This was a very special and personal wedding for me. Not only were the bride and groom and their families dear to us but my whole little family was also involved in the wedding. Chad and Kelsey were seniors in the youth group when my husband, Justin, became the student pastor at Westmeade Baptist Church. Throughout their collegiate years, Chad and Kelsey became less like students in our college ministry and more like family. Kelsey has poured so much love and attention into our children over the years and our kids just idolize her for that. Chad, who will begin seminary next year, interned for my husband one summer before going on to pastor his own little church nearby.
We’ve watched them grow in their love for each other and the Lord and we feel so blessed to have had front row seats. Speaking of front row seats, all four of the McAlpins were able to stand by Chad and Kelsey’s side as they became husband and wife! Justin officiated the sweet ceremony, our daughter, Claire, was the flower girl (who was almost as tall as the bride :)), our son, Jax, was the sign holder (but don’t confuse that with ring bearer, he doesn’t like that) and I, of course, was the photographer. It was literally a family affair!
And oh what an affair it was! This was my very first wedding to shoot at Annabella at Cedar Glen and I fell in love with it’s sweet Southern charm! The beautiful, white plantation home surrounded by the meticulously landscaped gardens was the perfect backdrop for this beautiful wedding. Unfortunately during photos, we kept having to run for cover due to passing rain showers but the bridal party wasn’t bothered in the least! They kept smiling and went with the flow! Thankfully, we had the most perfect weather for the most perfect ceremony and afterwards guests dined and danced under the stars and twinkling lights in the giant oak trees.
It was truly a special night.
Look at my sweet babies!
