November 11, 2017 | The Burgess Home | Gurley, Alabama
Years ago, back in elementary school, Mackenzie was Jerry’s first girlfriend and he was her first boyfriend. Although, I guess back then they were technically “going together.” Anyone else remember that terminology?!?
Life took Kenzie and Jerry down different paths until two years ago when that childhood flame was rekindled. Jerry, now a father of three precious children, asked Mackenzie to be his wife. Last week, the couple exchanged vows while the children stood at their feet. The new family, as well as bridal party and wedding guests, danced and dined the evening away as the sun set behind the beautiful Alabama hills.
This wedding day was filled with a lot of laughter and sweet moments. I hope you enjoy Mackenzie and Jerry’s wedding story…
These rings belonged to Mackenzie’s late mother. They served as a way to honor her memory as well as Kenzie’s Something Old and Something Blue.
A tearful moment when Mackenzie’s sister placed their mother’s rings on her fingers.
Obviously these sweet kiddos had to be a part of their daddy’s getting ready photos. Personally, I think they kinda stole the show 😉
This sweet boy was my buddy all day so I had to include him in the blog 🙂
Mackenzie was given away by her dad and step-dad.
How cute and cozy do they look?!?! Those flannels that Mackenzie gave her bridesmaids came in handy on this chilly day!
