Stephanie and Nick | Wedding

May 20, 2017 | The Westin Huntsville | Huntsville, Alabama

I first met Stephanie and Nick two summers ago when I photographed Stephanie’s sister’s wedding. As I was documenting Melissa and Brandon’s day, I remember seeing Steph and Nick together and thinking to myself that they shared something really special. Fast forward a year later and I received the sweetest email filled with so much excitement from Steph telling me that Nick proposed and they wanted me to photograph the wedding. I can’t begin to tell you how honored I felt after reading her email. For me, being asked to document such an important day in a couple’s life is the greatest compliment and demonstration of trust I could receive. And my heart was so happy at the thought of spending more time with a family I’d already grown to know and love.

Stephanie and Nick chose the beautiful Westin hotel for their ceremony and reception. Kris with Kris Clark Designs worked her magic again to transform one of the ballrooms into an intimate and elegant ceremony site and then quickly flipped the room into a breath-taking reception space complete with majestic candelabras and dreamy draping which was all highlighted by the event lighting talents of Metropolitan. Thankfully, Steph chose an indoor wedding because 5 minutes into the ceremony the sky opened up, the thunder boomed and the lighting flashed outside of the hotel. If the saying that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck is true then these two have a very blessed marriage ahead of them!

Nick and Steph, I love how you bring out the best in each other. The joy that you both were feeling on your big day was evident to everyone. I know that you will have a happy and healthy marriage, even without the “rain on your wedding day” wives tale. You both, along with your families, will always hold a special place in my heart.
